| Physical Description |  Zhevaahnn is tall and lean of build, but he is stronger than he looks. His long, black hair is kept at near the middle of his back and usually worn tied back at his neck. History
| Personal History | Zhevaahnn grew up on a fringe colony with all the good and bad that come with being so far from the core of the Federation. As such, he learned young to defend himself against the bigger boys of the colony. He had always been different, and took no end of grief for it. When he was twelve, his Gift opened, and he was nearly rendered to a catatonic state. Fortunately, his mother, who had seen this in other relatives, knew what was happening and pulled him from the visions. She then explained to him that he had the Sight, a Gift that allowed him to experience what had occurred in a place, what many espers called Place Memory. She taught him as much as she could about how to control it, which was not much, but she did teach him to build walls around his mind. This seemed to keep the impressions at bay. Because of his Gift, the colony's security force asked him to help them on several cases where they had run into dead ends, a lack of evidence, etc. When he was 17, one of the Starfleet recruiters who had come to try and recruit some of the young witnessed Zhevaahnn performing this service and passed this information on to Starfleet. For the next several years, they sent recruiter after recruiter to try and get him to join, but he had no interest in Starfleet. Instead, he went to work for a private security firm. That did not last long, however, as he was more of an investigator than a guard. So he moved on, applying to the planetary police force, entering their academy. He worked hard and graduated at the age of 25, starting as a patrol officer. At that time, he was partnered with a lady named Evelynn Morrison. She taught him a lot about field work that one just didn't learn in the classes. It was through her that he met the lady who would become his wife, her sister, Andrea. He and Andrea hit it off immediately, and a hear later married when he was 28. Their daughter Taryn was born shortly thereafter. They were a happy family for seven years. During that time, he and Evelynn worked hard, and he rose quickly through the ranks, becoming a detective. Then, one day, an angry criminal whom Zhevaahnn and Evelynn had caught near the beginning of his career caught Andrea coming out of her place of employment and shot her. While that man was arrested, tried and convicted, it did little for Zhevaahnn's mental state. He slipped into a deep depression and was given a leave of absence from the force for a year. At the end of that time, he returned to work, but he was quieter and more introverted. That did not stop him from doing his job well, though. He raised their daughter alone from that point on, teaching her as much as he could, making sure that she knew as much about her mother as he could remember, and generally providing a loving home for her even if it did only have one parent. And when she left home at 18 to join Starfleet, he was proud. He still is. At that time, he changed direction and applied to the Federation Security Agency. His child was out there among the stars; he needed to go beyond their home planet. His experience in the planetary police force served him, but he still had to take THEIR training -- this included his specialty as well as some tactical training in ship-to-ship tactics -- which he threw himself into and passed. He then became a junior investigator and was partnered, again, with Evelynn Morrison whom he had not realized had changed employers too. It was a happy reunion, but tinged with sadness for the loss they both had endured. Still, as before, they made an excellent team. Assignment after assignment, he and Evelynn undertook successfully. But fate, it seemed, was not his friend. While investigating a case on Amarasta III, they were ambushed, and Evelynn was killed. The subsequent investigation proved that he had done everything in his power to protect his partner and catch the criminals, and he was returned to duty after a six month investigation. But he was not sent back to his old Field Office. Instead, the Agency sent him to the Bajoran Sector, to a new team. |
